Alexa Whitewolf – First to Fall

A word from the author
For my entry this year, I thought I’d introduce you to a different type of werewolf book 🙂 Rooted in Romanian folklore, topped with steamy scenes between MCs Dom and Luz, it’s a thrilling ride and quite probably one of the stories I most enjoyed writing!
There is context in this, historical (semi-historical 😂) references to Romanian stories of varcolaci (our version of werewolves). But if you step out of what you’re used to reading about werewolves, I promise you’ll be in for a new, thrilling ride 😉
The book
First to Fall is book 1 in my Moonlight Rogues series. And guess what! Book 2 is out 😍 You’ll find links for both further below, but here’s book 1!

Blurb
He was given a new life, a new choice, a new path…
Once upon a time, Dominic Kosta didn’t have a last name. In fact, he had nothing growing up in a secluded orphanage in the mountains of Transylvania. Then an American couple adopted him, and life changed. He left behind the old
legends, the myths, the hunger within him.
He threw it all behind, choosing seclusion and a little town….
Rockland Creek may be a hole in the middle of nowhere, but Dom’s happy there. Life has its perks between fixing cars and seducing women. And best of all? There are no rules, other than Lucas’.
Then Lucrezia San Marco walks in, and draws him in like a moth to a flame. Only, she only has eyes for Lucas, his boss – and alpha of the pack.
…filled with werewolves.
There’s nothing normal about Rockland Creek – or Dominic’s existence there. But things are about to get worse, and not just because he sees the girl he loves slipping through his fingers.
A war is brewing, eclipsing their romance and dragging old ghosts into town…
As Dominic navigates the murky waters of romance and obedience to his leader, his feelings for Lucrezia can no longer be tamed. But not everyone supports their relationship – and the Reapers have a word or two to say against it. As does Lucrezia’s ex, and the demons he brings with him.
Fire and ice, cold and hot, wolf and human. Dom and Luz will have to combine their differences and learn to compromise, or risk being torn apart by the wave of change unfurling onto Rockland Creek.
*Book I in a new series of sizzling werewolves, forgotten folklore and untamed legends.*
Excerpt
Written from dual POV (Dom & Luz), here’s an excerpt from Dom. There’s more than one danger courting in Rockland Creek, and Jared and his pack of Reapers fit.
Luz jerks to her feet, fists clenched at her side and cheeks flaming. “Are you freaking kidding me?”
Jared does something I don’t expect: he actually looks her in the eye. Normally, the Reapers consider all humans beneath them, a weaker species created only to be dominated. But Luz’s outburst draws his attention, and I’m not sure that’s a good thing.
“In this day and age, you dare to dress up like motorcycle thugs and waltz in here, ruining perfect dinners and saying nasty things? So what if Dom is an outsider, you have no right being an ignorant prick!”
My jaw drops at her rant, but I don’t have time to correct her. Jared wasn’t referring to me as the mutt—but her.
Protect!
My wolf roars just in time, sparking me into movement. Jared takes a step closer, flushing and looking ready to strangle her. I jerk to my feet, simultaneously tugging Luz so she’s behind me. In the small booth, it’s a tight fit but I’m ready to go to war if need be.
Lucas, however, has other ideas. He walks over to Jared, tapping his shoulder to get his attention. “I believe your problem was “with me. What is it you want this time, Jared?”
I can’t believe his bored tone, considering what nearly happened, but I push my anger down. It would not do to let my wolf out right now—especially in front of Luz.
Jared glares at Luz for a moment longer, then he smiles coldly. Something about it makes the hairs on my neck stand, and judging by Luz’s shiver, she feels it too. I pull her against me, hoping my heat will help somewhat.
Lucas zeroes in on the touch, and a muscle ticks in his jaw. Too bad, buddy.
He focuses back on Jared, his eyes shooting flames. “Still waiting.”
“See, I thought you had a tight leash on your pups.” I cringe again at the animal reference, but Luz is too enraptured by Lucas’ show of force to catch it. “Yet here I find them hunting on our territory.”
Lucas’ eyes narrow and meet mine in silent questioning. He must read my surprise, because he widens his stance and crosses his arms over his chest. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
